Bayer Statement on Extension Request for Roundup™ Class Plan Approval Process
March 8, 2021 – “Class counsel, with the company’s support, has asked the Court to extend the schedule for the preliminary approval hearing until May 13 in order to allow the parties more time to engage constructively with objectors, clear up significant misunderstandings and address concerns. It is common for class settlements, particularly large ones, to have objectors. This additional time will be beneficial to the approval process by allowing the parties to narrow objectors’ concerns and appropriately frame the remaining issues for the Court. Class counsel and the company have worked diligently to address the Court’s original concerns, and believe the revised agreement is fair to all parties.
“We look forward to working with the Court and the parties to advance the approval process for this class plan that is designed to address and resolve potential future Roundup™ cases.”
